Shelter Architecture was established in 2003 to provide exceptional design services to this loved community and beyond. Michelle, the principal architect, is educated at the University of Washington and CU Boulder’s School of Environmental Design She eventually relocated to Santa Barbara, CA to pursue not only Architecture but recreational ambitions including marathon racing, ultra running, triathlon and cycling. Here she met her husband, a local builder, and together a family grew along side their construction and architecture businesses. With an emphasis on ecologically sensitive projects and simple, good design - we work to create spaces that are in harmony with both the end user and the surrounding environment. Over the years, the firm has grown to provide a full spectrum of services and talents to serve the needs of our clientele.
